Outlier Finder

YouTube Outlier Finder — Spot Viral Videos Early

Outlier Finder scores every video by how hard it overperforms its own channel — not raw views. Surface 10x–100x breakouts in your niche, ranked by momentum, while they're still climbing.

Features

Find what's going viral — before your competitors do.

Outlier scoring

Every video gets a multiplier showing how far it beats its channel's typical performance. A 10x outlier is a real signal — 100K views on a giant channel isn't.

Breakout detection

We flag videos breaking out right now using view velocity, so you catch a format while it's climbing — not after it's saturated.

Freshness filters

Filter to the last week, month, or 6 months. Fresh outliers are still relevant; two-year-old ones are already overdone.

True channel baselines

Measure each video against its channel's own median, the way the pros define outliers — subscriber count taken out of the equation.

How it works

Three steps from idea to publish

1

Search your niche

Enter a keyword. We pull live YouTube results, constrained to the upload window you choose.

2

Rank by outlier score

Results sort by multiplier and velocity, surfacing breakouts first. Filter to Strong, Viral, or Breakouts only.

3

Measure & model

Get true scores measured against each channel's average, then model the winning title, thumbnail, and concept.

Frequently asked questions

What is a YouTube outlier?
An outlier is a video that dramatically overperforms its channel's average. If a channel averages 5,000 views and one video hits 50,000, that's a 10x outlier — a strong signal the idea, title, or thumbnail worked.
How is the outlier score calculated?
We compare a video's views to its channel's median recent upload. That removes channel size from the equation, so a breakout on a small channel ranks as highly as one on a large channel.
Can I filter outliers by date?
Yes — constrain results to the past week, month, 3 months, 6 months, or year. Recent outliers are still relevant; older ones are often saturated.
How is this different from sorting by views?
Sorting by views just surfaces big channels. Outlier Finder surfaces videos beating their own baseline — including small channels breaking out — and flags which are still gaining momentum.
